Happy Anniversary, Mikey!

I know, I know. Half of ya are like..."Didn't they have an anniversary in October?"

Lemmee 'splain..

Waaaaaaaay back...12 and a half years ago...Mike and Lela were planning a wedding. And...Lela was having a miserable time of it, cuz it was like watching a train wreck happen over and over. (I totally stressed on planning this thing, and we'd have never managed a wedding at all if it weren't for my mother. I swear the woman's a saint.)

So, Mike put his arms around Lela one day in October and said, "If we go to the courthouse and get married, then at least you're not stressing out about that too, right? And, it'll be our secret delight - something to help you get through the rough spot." I'm para-phrasing here. Mike was much smoooooover.

So...the timeline went like this...

October 27 - We elope, and for the next four months, I'm hiding my drivers liscense from like...everyone...and giggling about it. :P

January - We're pregnant! OMG, what about the wedding dress???

February 4 - Outdoor wedding on the windiest February day in the history of SoFlo, complete with shivering bridesmaids, a lack of a sound system, and the veil blowing up over the head of the bride as she comes around the house in a dress pinned on her, because her aunt let it out in anticipation of her being a lot more pregnant than she was.

The honeymoon was awesome, though. :)
