Make a difference

One of the radio stations we listen to here is spending a couple of days promoting Compassion International which is a charity that focuses on impoverished children all over the globe. The staff of the station recently took a trip to Brazil to learn more about the program and meet some of the families that are helped by the program, and the stories they came back with will break your heart.

I've never been so grateful for my life.

The program itself provides educational opportunities, meals, and a safe place for these kids to play. Their site has pictures and information about the children who need sponsors ($32 a month), and the financial information page assures that 83 percent of all contributions go directly to funding the program (the rest goes to administration and fund raising). Please take a look if you can see your way clear to "adopting" one of these kids if you can. :)
