What would you do?

Okay, I've got a scenario for you...

You fly out to see your family for Thanksgiving. You're all meeting at your sibling's house for dinner as planned weeks ago, but on the day of, his/her kid is really sick. You all eat dinner and spend the day together, trying really hard not to hug the afformentioned sick kid.

By Saturday, you're sick as a dog, and your plane leaves Sunday morning whether you're puking up everything you've eaten since you got to town or not.

So, my question is this: Do you get on the plane, queasy as you are, and risk the possibility of making everyone else on the plane sick? And if you do, for whatever reason (like non-refundable tickets you can't afford to replace), are you the rude person on the plane that gave everyone that flu?

It's like this weird little train of thought in my head after hearing about a similar circumstance with a friend of mine. I mean...really. With people as nasty and rude as they come nowadays, is the person who has to fly home sick as a dog really the bad guy here? Is it the sibling who had a bunch of people eating in a house full of sick germs?

The agoraphobe in my head is screaming things like "This is why you should never leave the house!!!" and the hyper chick who's been pent up in the apartment post-surgery is screaming things like "You takes your chances! Deal with it! At least you had a good meal before you had to stop eating!" and yes, this is a crazy-lady rant with no point, but you should expect that from me every now and then. :P

i believe you have to go ahead with the assumption that you won't make everyone else sick as long as you take the necessary precautions to avoid spreading the virus.

Take my wife and me as an example. she catches everything (she is a first grade teacher.) and i never ever get sick. so you could sit right next to me on the plane and i wouldn't have a problem.
