SGs/VGs, Teaming, and other matters

With the imminent closing of the Champions United boards, we began to discuss the status of our SGs/VGs on Champion, as well as elsewhere, and we've made some decisions we'd like to share.

We have a total of 6 groups across 3 different servers, and we enjoy playing our million alts quite a bit. The groups on Champion have become more of a repository for our alts there, and we find ourselves teaming more often with non-rp'ers than rp'ers on Champ these days. Recently, we've added a non-rp'er (family member) to the Mavs as well, and it got me to thinking that it's time to make some changes.

We've begun scheduling team-up nights again, and the idea has been to meet up once a week, spacing out the groups/plans/TFs/SFs over those 6 groups. It's less complicated than it might sound at first glance for two reasons. First, because of the Clique global channel, we can put announcements up in the motd to give notice of where/when the next team-up night will be, and second, because we tend to put plans into the calendar at the Yahoo groups set up for the SGs/VGs.

In an attempt to sorta streamline all this (and give me a lot less work), we're going to be making a few changes, starting with consolidating the Yahoo groups into one group for all six SGs/VGs. With one group to leave notices, share info, and calendar team-ups, it will be easier to track what's going on with "the SoFlo crew". We'll be closing the other Yahoo groups after the first.

Another change we'd like to make is to officially make the Champion SG and VG non-rp (though we'd certainly like to consider them rp-friendly in the extreme!). This is mostly a cosmetic type of thing at this point. Aside from people who live in this house, I can think of two of you that actually log in any characters from these groups with any kind of regularity. It simply makes sense from our point of view, and it opens up the possibility to invite non-rp friends into the groups, as well as discuss coalitioning with other SGs/VGs that are run by friends on Champion.

We still consider ourselves rp'ers, and our Virtue groups will remain "lite rp" as before. We've just seen a change over the last year or so in our play style on Champion, and we'd like to reflect that.

In any case (on any server), team-up nights are open to anyone whether they're in the associated SG/VG or not, and we'd love to openly invite anyone who'd like to join us to send us a tell or an email so we can hook up. I'll be posting team-up night plans at the blog a few days beforehand, and anyone who'd like an invitation to either the Clique global channel or Yahoo group is welcome to do so. Just give me a heads up here or in game.

Our SGs/VGs and server info are as follows:
The Mavericks - SG on Champion, non-rp group, rp'ers welcome; Theme: A group of over 18 heroes who hang out at a bar
The Company - VG on Chamion, non-rp group, rp'ers welcome; Theme: Mafia style organization
The Starchasers - SG on Virtue, lite rp group; Theme: Heroes who don't quite "fit in" with the status quo for whatever reason
The Order of the Bloody Rose - VG on Virtue, lite rp group; Theme: Cult followers with mercenaries hired into the lower ranks
Field Test Dummies - SG on Pinnacle, non-rp group; No theme here, but basically meant for build-testing so as not to take up slots on the servers we play most on with builds we just wanna "try out"
Thugz! - VG on Pinnacle, non-rp group; Theme: Thug MMs (any secondary)

Thanks for your time. :)
