Well, it turns out that the hospital my uncle was taken to just so happens to have the state's best gastroenterologist on staff. He found a mass in my uncle's stomach that turns out to be a hard-to-find blood clot and "several" ulcers. The bleeding he experienced was the result of a re-opened patch done by the Mayo Clinic after they nicked an old surgical site.
Call it luck if you'd like, but I prefer to use the word providence. He could've ended up in any ER between New York and Indiana, and he just so happened to be rushed to the -one- hospital where there was a doctor who could find problems that two other hospitals full of specialists couldn't?
Yeah. Providence. Answered prayer. God's hand at work in my uncle's life.
They were scheduled to return to the Mayo in June for more tests regarding a mass they found, then couldn't find, in his lower intestine. This doctor says he doesn't want them to wait and is intervening with them on my uncle's behalf.
It's the miracle we've been praying for over the last few months. :)
