We've got a terrible problem with fires in the Everglades right now, and you can really smell the smoke in the air here. We're under a "dense smoke advisory", and anyone with respiratory issues or allergy issues is being encouraged to remain indoors.
And so, brilliant reporters went out to poll local residents to get a good feel for the way the community is handling it!
The rocket scientist they put on camera said it smells great! Like a campfire!

i love the smell. smells like a bonfire.
I couldn't go outside, and everytime they put those people who were losing their homes further north on the news, my heart broke. It impacts everything from driving conditions to our environment.
My point was that out of all of those things, that's the pulse of the community: it smells good.
It's like when you talk about global warming or polution. No one really cares, and that's offensive to me.
