Hurricane Katrina

About a month ago, my cousin Becky sent out a photo album link with the following email. I asked if I could share it, she said yes, then I promptly became lazy and forgot all about it. Apologies, Beck.

From her email:

We just recently returned from Harrison County Mississippi from a 2 week deployment. When we first arrived, myself and the other officers were in shock for a couple of days. Nothing like you see on TV especially since all the focus is on New Orleans. What a shame because what this community experiecned was unbelievable. 98% of Pass Christian and Henderson Point homes are completly destroyed. I heard so many stories from residents how they survived the storm from sitting on their roof top while it floated away or hanging onto telephone poles or riding it out on a air mattress or boats. I had the opportunity to talk with alot of the residences and a common quote was "If I could only find one thing like a picture or a fork or plate or just something from my house, I would be happy". These people had nothing left, but would be happy if they could find something that belonged to them. I was deployed to the hurricanes last year in Florida and what I was deployed to in Mississippi can not be compared to anything we saw or experienced. I have attached some pictures but the pictures can not tell the story of what we saw. Continue to pray and support these people.
