Ms. Hendricks was teaching her anatomy class at Lilith College, an all-female school. She posed the following question to her class:
"Name the human organ that will expand to 100 times its normal size and under what conditions."
No one answered, so Ms. Hendricks called upon the very prim and proper Miss Underwood.
Miss Underwood blushed furiously and said with trembling indignation, "Ms. Hendricks! You have no right to ask me such a rude question! I assure you, you shall be hearing from the Headmisstress and my parents for that!"
Unperturbed, Ms. Hendricks called upon Miss Leavitt, who promply responded, "The pupil of the eye, in dim light."
Ms. Hendricks then turned on Miss Underwood. "Miss Underwood, I have three things to say to you. One, you have not studied your lesson. Two, you have a dirty mind. And three, one day, you will suffer a dreadful disappointment."
I understand the movie Kinsey used this joke, as well. The joke existed long before the movie did.
