Now...I've seen some scary things...

Late night tv has become an occassional source of entertainment these days. Steve and I like to mock some of the odder shows and commercials. Like the really awful reality dating show last night where the source of the biggest laughs was the big, burly waiter with the soft, afeminate voice whose favorite phrase as far as we could tell in his asides to the camera was "You know what I'm saying?". He was far more entertaining than the guys actually competing over the brawny, annoying chick who was constantly reminding everyone that she was from New York. Shows like this remind us that there are some really stupid people in the world, and they all want to be on television.

Anyway, back to the reason I was writing this...

Amidst all of this fine substandard programming, we caught some of a re-broadcast of Jay Leno. And, when he said David Lee Roth would be performing, Steve and I kinda looked at each other like "Oh, that should be cool". Jay said that DLR had a new album, and he came out onto the stage with a southern-styled band behind him.

And sang "Jump".

Um...damn, man....

Retire.

Please.

We cried.

And for all of you who bitched about Van Halen/Sammy Hagar after DLR left?

*cheerfully* At least Sammy never did -that- to a VH song.

*wanders off to floss her brain*

Lol, that's high-larious. I remember, a couple of years ago, Jay Leno had DLR on and he sang "California Girls" but did it in a "Las Vegas lounge act" style. I was extremely embarrassed for him...yeah...retire...for real.

EDIT: I originally posted this under the wrong heading so I deleted and reposted here. Sorry, a bit bleary eyed :)

Yep. Think Steve said something like "He sounds like a lounge singer". We were very sad and embarrassed for him.

And there was the observation that Ozzy aged better than him, and we're pretty sure Ozzy's supposedly older...

And that smile... Who smiles like that?

*shudders*
