While I am aware that I just posted an updated character list yesterday, I am posting this revised version to reflect some changes that have been discussed here over the course of the last couple of weeks. While I still intend to play on Champion server often (and enjoy the characters I have there immensely), Mike and I have found a definite desire to shift focus to some new characters, as well as the Order, on Virtue. The rp community there seems to be better established and larger on the whole, and we thought it would be nice to meet some of them.

Huh...
I have not seen any difference RP wise on either server. For the longest time I kept waiting to come across RP'rs in PuG's....nada until this past weekend. So, what, 10 months after having a toon on Virtue?
Really, the only Rp'rs that I know of on Virtue are the ones that have alts from Champion.

As for the rp'ers, BD, I can't seem to help but stumble over them on Virtue. I see them a lot on broadcast, and I've seen a lot more (( )) in PuGs than I ever saw on Champion. It was also a matter of having open slots to make the characters we'd talked about.

See, I turn off Broadcast first thing when creating a new toon since it is mostly filled with crap.
Saturday was the first time in 10 months I have seen anyone besides myself or fellow Championites use any veriation of (()). Most times I just get asked what (()) means, why I use them, what RP means, or why anyone would want to RP a Super Hero/Villain.

Oh, I hear ya. I used to do that all the time, but when I started running around in PvP zones, I realized I'd want broadcast in at least one tab. My solution became to put it in the global tab if the toon was in an SG and in the chat window if they weren't.
I was really thinking of it as more of a useful thing to keep an eye on in case there was a giant monster out in the zone I was in or if someone new to the game was asking a question I might be able to answer. I first really started noticing rp'ers on villain-side there who were either advertising their VGs (often very creatively while keeping ic with brackets to give the info that it was an rp VG). I just kept watching after that, and I've seen everything from teams looking for extra members icly to answers to new person's questions surrounded by (( )) when appropriate.
I also (from seeing it similarly done) started putting Role-player in the search comment section of my team window, and I've been sent tells to join teams made up of rp'ers as well as gotten queries from other rp'ers about room on my team.
We kinda get all excited when it happens cuz we're total spazzes. :P
If you join a PUG anywhere, you can't expect anything. It could be good, it could be bad. That's what a PUG is.
However, on Virtue, you can meet other RPers in PUGs, and as Lela suggested, using (( )) and making a point of mentioning you're a RPer in your search comment will attract other RPers.
I for one have teamed with people purely cause I've seen that. And I've had fun - both playing and just randomly RPing :)
You do not get this on Champion. Champion has an enclosed RPing community, there's not really a RPing community outside of it.

Yeah...
I have had ((Roleplayer - no blind invites)) in my team listing since the first month of playing the game. It does little or no good, but it makes me feel better at least. ;P
It doesn't stop me from roleplaying when I am in a PuG, and depending on my mood, encourages it.
My fave is the following standard conversation...with variations depending on Toon:
{733t} do u have TP?
{me} No, you bloody americans and your childish games.
(733t} no, do u have Tp?
{me} No, I bloody well do not 'ave TP you silly git. If you need to wipe your arse, thare are plenty of stores in and around these islands, not to mention the random WC, now piss off.

Seriously, though, I'm sorry to hear that you haven't had a similar experience. It's changed the landscape for us considerably.
