For the record...

I don't really care who posts comments to my blog, honestly. I like seeing comments, and sometimes, it's nice to get a little validation here or confirmation that someone's reading there. I've only ever found it necessary to remove one comment from my blog in the last six months, and I did it because the comment itself was offensive in my opinion. It's my blog. I figure I've got that right.

I also don't mind if you post opposing points of view. I figure everyone has an opinion and a right to that opinion. If you've got the guts to put your name to it, more power to you. Just because you see a comment here doesn't mean that I agree with it, but that I respect the commenter's right to their opinion.

I have no control over what is posted at other people's blogs - not even those belonging to the people in my household. Unless I state that I agree with it, you can't tell whether I do or don't. If my name isn't on the 'posted by' area, then I didn't post it and have neither stated agreement nor disagreement.

When you read another person's blog, you are reading their opinion. You are subjecting yourself to that opinion by clicking on whatever link took you there. If you have a problem with something they have posted, you can go to them and speak directly to the writer, you can shrug it off, or you can post your own snarky blog entry at your own blog. That's your perogative. They still had a right to say whatever it was that pissed you off whether you - or I - agree with it.

I'm sick of being held responsible for another grown-up's comments and/or actions. I own what I say and do, and I expect others to do the same.

I'm sick of being yelled at and punished for what others say and do.

And I'm sick of having to turn off the computer in tears.
