What's going on?

Actually...where do I begin?

As this is the first day of school, I guess that's a good place to start. We sent Caedyn off on his bus this morning at 6:20 am. Actually...Mike did. Mornings are going to be his department as he already has to drive Steve to work, and when he works days, he has to be at work himself at 7:30. I didn't wake up from my first-day-of-my-baby-in-a-new-school-40-minutes-away nightmares until 7.

He's mostly ready though. We've got enough uniforms for a week (though, I'd like to find 2 more pairs of pants in the near future, because even in Florida, shorts may not work out at 6am come October), and while I still need to find a rolling backpack and duotang folders (of which I'm convinced there is a national shortage every year), he's got most of the stuff on the list we just got on Thursday. As for whatever list they send home today...*sigh*

He's excited and nervous. I'm excited and nervous. I really hope today is an awesome day for him.

Church...

It seems we've found a church. Wait...let me back up. Mike and I have been talking and praying about finding a church all summer. When things started to spiral badly from the still undiagnosed bipolar six or so years ago, we'd left the church we were at as I withdrew further from...well, everything. So, when discussion began earlier this summer, I said I'd like to find something non-denominational or possibly Pentecostal or Messianic Jewish, but please no more Baptist. I was raised in a Southern Baptist Church, and there were times that it was about as guilt-manufacturing as any account I've heard from Catholics I've known. (Imagine if you will... "Well, I grew up in the Catholic church, so I know guilt!" "Oh yeah? Well, I grew up with preachers who yelled at walls and spit all over the congregation with hellfire and damnation, and then got put in a HOME where they could drum into my head how bad I was!")

So, yeah. We've prayed and asked for guidance, and yesterday, I got guided....right back to the Baptist church we left six years ago. There's a new pastor (ordained by the one that I liked back when we were going before), and it took less than an hour for Caedyn to impress like...everyone there...and surprising me by demonstrating that he's actually listened to me and Mike when we've talked about God and faith and what our Christianity means to us.

While I'm grateful and looking forward to getting back into the church, I'm kinda sad, cuz I was hoping for dancing and tambourines and shouting "Hallelujah!"

Yeah, yeah...I'm weird. Go ahead and say it. :P

Lord, just keep me from becoming a judgemental two-faced snob.

Moving on...

Kimmie is 2 centimeters dialated STILL, but the doctor has told her that he can't get to the cervix, because it's behind...the...head? Are we sure Tennessee HAS real doctors? In the meantime, she's still in a lot of pain between having a big baby in a little body and Braxton-Hicks contractions. She is due this week, though, which I think is awesome for someone they didn't think would make it past the 7th month! :)

Online...

We had a great team on Saturday night, and I was so encouraged by the turnout for Starchasing! We'd like to make it a weekly thing, rotating through the different SGs/VGs, and I'll be getting to work on fitting that into our ever-changing schedule as soon as I can. The earlier morning routines are gonna make for earlier weeknight plans, however, so some shuffling might be required there. I'd still like to make effort to put random teams together during some of the nights where we have no plans, and I'll try to update the Clique Channel MOTD with any plans we make so you know where we'll be.

I want to thank everyone who joined us. As I said, I was so excited that you all showed up and we got to just spend time together!

In general...

It just feels like we're a lot busier these days as we try to sort out school/work schedules, sleep schedules, med schedules, and copious doctor appointments/physical therapy. With all the running around, we're doing way too much Burger/Donald's/Wendys, and I'm actually craving SALADS and actual dinners where we all sit down at the table. Going to try to get back to that this week.

I'll probably be around online more once things settle back into a workable routine around here. Until then, take care of yourselves and have fun!

No worries, darlin! I'm so glad you're enjoying the TR beta. We were looking at the trailer last night and saying we wish we could give it a try without having to buy in. Not sure we can afford another game for a while.

We also checked out Dungeon Runners, though, and since it's a freebie, we might be giving that a try. :)
