Respect and Stone/EM tanks

Respect seems to be a theme going 'round and 'round in my Google Reader the last few days. Funnily enough, respect came up on team yesterday during an attempt at the Hess TF.

On the issue of respect, I have this to say: If you want it, give it. If you've earned it, you'll get it.

Now...since I was soft-spoken yesterday, and my feelings may not have been completely clear...

If you're stepping up to perform a specific task as part of a team, and you are ill-equipped to perform that task - demanding respect from a team full of strangers is laughable at best. If you want respect in this specific situation, don't volunteer to tank an AV without taunt or a taunt aura. Try actually hitting the AV with your attacks in order to at least attempt to hold his aggro instead of watching your teammates drop like flies while you chase down the minions around him.

Now, all that said, I had a great time yesterday. I laughed so hard from beginning to finish that failing such an easy TF was actually enjoyable. I can't wait to try to run it again!
