Five minutes ago, my nine-year-old walked out into the living room and announced that he is actually going to be 12 years old next month.
Yep.
Seems that while making a timeline of his life for school, he came to this realization. He began counting with one at 1995 - the year he was born.
What was really funny was that after explaining that you don't start counting with the year you're born, his count (pointing to each year on the timeline) was still coming out to 11. He was counting emphatically for poor Steve, who began to think maybe we'd somehow cheated the kid out of a year.
At this point, I'm still in the next room puzzling over this odd conversation.
Then, Steve says, "You put 1997 on here twice!"
Caedyn: "Oh!"
Steve: "I'm counting...and I was thinking, they gypped the kid out of a year! It just really screwed me all up!"
Oh yeah...
We're the household full of really smart people.
