So, if I disappear at times over the next couple of days...

Weather Forecasts on Yahoo! Weather: "THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MIAMI HAS ISSUED A

* FLOOD WATCH FOR SOUTH FLORIDA

* FROM THURSDAY MORNING TO SATURDAY EVENING

* TROPICAL STORM KATRINA IS FORECAST TO MOVE FROM THE NORTHERN
BAHAMAS TOWARD SOUTH FLORIDA TONIGHT AND THURSDAY...CROSSING THE
COASTLINE OF SOUTH FLORIDA EARLY FRIDAY AND MOVING VERY SLOWLY
ACROSS THE STATE. THE FOERECAST SLOW MOVEMENT OF KATRINA
INCREASES THE CHANCES FOR TORRENTIAL RAINFALL...AND STORM TOTAL AMOUNTS
OF 6 TO 12 INCHES EXPECTED THROUGH SATURDAY WITH LOCALIZED
AMOUNTS AS HIGH AS 15 TO 20 INCHES POSSIBLE. THIS AMOUNT OF RAIN
WOULD RESULT IN EXTENSIVE FLOODING ACROSS SOUTH
FLORIDA...SIMILAR TO THAT EXPERIENCE WITH HURRICANE IRENE IN
1999 AND THE TROPICAL DISTURBANCE OF OCTOBER 2 2000."

This could be no big deal. After the tropical disturbance mentioned here, we were without power for 3 days. A couple of months later, the building manager convinced the power company to raise the transformer a half foot (which really has made a difference in severe weather since then). So, maybe bad, maybe not so bad. Won't be driving anywhere unless absolutely necessary. Drainage in Davie gets to be an issue and our street and parking lot often get so full of water, you get to feel like you could go for a swim.

School's been cancelled for the next two days.

I knew the weather was too nice today. :(
