Spotlight - Miss Nebula

Hero Name: Miss Nebula
Name: Caitlin Porter
History Thread: http://freedomphalanx.com/v-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?t=2885

Okay. First, go to the history thread above and read the character description. It's so awesomely (yes, that's a word and I don't care if the dictionary doesn't believe me) written by my best friend Doyce, who took a little scene I wrote and turned it into something that captures the character's evolution perfectly.

Caitlin wants to be a hero. She wants to be the person she saw her brother Daniel was in her eyes.

What I like about Caitlin is her ability to find the silver lining for everyone but herself. She wants so much to help and give, and she feels like she has to do it two-fold in honor of her brother's sacrifice.

But, Caitlin lacks the confidence in her own abilities to really believe she can do it. So, there are people in her life to teach her that she can be confident in who she is.

There's her sponsors through a version of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program meant to match hero mentors with teen meta-humans - Saphire Celest and Vanguarde. There are the members of the Liberty Force - the supergroup Celeste and Van helped her get into.

And there's Marcus - another beginning hero known as Origami Man.
Marcus is protective, good-hearted, has a sweet nature...and is completely enamored with her - which is a good thing, because she's crushing on the guy something fierce.

I've invited Sean to post OM's information here at the blog, so I'm going to hold off on a fuller description than that. We'd like to tell their story here.

But wait, there's more...

You see, Marcus is the angel on her right shoulder. There's a devil too - Markov Chain - and his story is told here (scroll down to Markov Chain).

Marc and Mark. How funny is that? :)

Mark was her brother's best friend. He walked away from the Hollowing to become a mercenary assassin. They haven't seen each other since the funeral, and when they do, they'll each be trying to sway the other to their way of thinking.

I'm really looking forward to seeing where this goes. :)

Game stuff:

She's an energy/energy blaster - a set I really enjoy - and Marcus is a Martial Arts/SR scrapper, so they can dish out the damage. Lots of fun to run them together. :)

When they die, it happens fast, but I think once we get them into the twenties, they'll be uber.
