I didn't forget these so much as let them fall on the back burner while I took advantage of a couple of people's vacations last week to get a bunch of rp in. In fact, I'll be concentrating on log conversions and thread updates amidst a whole hoarde of other things that need attention over the next couple of weeks. Thus, a couple of sum-ups here, but you'll have to wait for the meat of it to turn up ic or in a thread. All of my notes are behind and in flux, so levels won't be updated for a few more days yet (and on a new page!).
Dark Scorpia
A couple of weeks ago, I jumped at the chance to ressurect a little history from Scorp's early days. You see, in the very beginning of her story, Scorpia met a hero called Vincent Vorpal who became her first friend in Paragon, her mentor, and her first love. Of course, none of that went really well for the two of them, because they had ISSUES. Not just issues, people, but ISSUES, though I won't be going into them here. At one point, Vincent had placed a piece of himself within Sabrina - like a part of his soul - to carry with her, and during the last battle to retain control of the dark side of her powers, she thought she'd destroyed this in the process of regaining balance.
Then, I got the chance to involve her in a story the player was writing about Vincent's praetorian counterpart, and the set-up scene for her involvement included re-awakening that shard of Vincent's soul.
I guess good rp begets good rp, because I had this idea to tie it all together in this story I've been trying to write about Sabrina's final triumph over the darkness that I hope will make a decent story idea a great one. I'm currently working on the logs and entries for that, but it's beginning to get told in her thread beginning with the scene above, so that's all I'm gonna say about that for now. :)
Midnite Tempest
Dierdre, Dierdre. I keep asking myself how she manages to do the opposite of what I tell her to do...
Quick catch up here. Seventy-Six hosted a Christmas party for the Alliance, and she figured where better to put faces to names without having to actually ask. Besides, she figured a low profile wasn't going to get her very far if who ever engineered her creation was to be convinced she was actually Raene if 'Raene' isn't hanging around her friends.
So, when Avocet said they'd met at a BBQ after she'd won a contest, Dierdre adlibbed something something about eggs and spoons. Raene had actually won a Hekuba-declared 'Best Rack Contest', and when she was informed of this with quizzical looks, she realized she was in way over her head. She called Derek (with whom she'd just washed her hands because he was talking about going on a date with someone even after this long, involved conversation in which she'd thought she'd gotten through to him that it's not a good idea to risk someone else's heart when your heart is already taken, blah, blah, blah), and he rode to her rescue, showing up to stand beside her and whisper who was who and whatnot. He, during the process, admitted that he just didn't want to be alone while waiting for Abby to return his affections, so she presented him with a proposition of sorts. They would hold up a facade of being together, thereby protecting him from himself (if he has a girlfriend, even for show, he won't chase any more skirts) while protecting her from whatever the Crey or their client had been up to.
And then, as they began to spend more and more time together, Dierdre struggled more and more with her growing affections for her first and best friend. She finally admitted that she was in love with him just before Christmas, and they actually are a couple now.
Don't ask me people. She is one of those characters who hasn't done a damned thing I told her to do. But it's a trend, I tell ya, cuz...
I'm talking to the player behind Vincent Vorpal one day last week about our Numina TF (which you guys made so much fun, by the way!), and when I said Scorp was going, he said he'd bring Vincent for IC reasons although Grave Spider needed the badge. I told him to let me know when he ran it with GS, and I'd try to go with in return. So, he asked if it could be Syn. I said sure. She didn't need the badge, but exemping equals influence, and I have alts to feed. He asked if we could duo it. He's an excellent player, and we have fun, so I said sure.
Then he asked if it could be IC...
Synoptic
Oh. wow.
Seriously people. WOW.
In the wake of Hype's departure, Syn completely sank back inside of the moody, rude teenager she'd been before his influence made her half-way to polite. GS takes great pleasure in being a total ass to just about everyone in the Alliance who embraces the 'I'm a hero' approach to caping.
And the two of them are absolutely awesome together. The chemistry alone between them could make you swoon. It's electric with an underlying bonding over similar experiences of pain and loss. Seriously want to put them on the list with Aiden/Charisma, Shodan/Aria, HT/Scorp as best rp couples I've ever had a chance to play.
I'm determined to write something for them, so I don't want to tell too much more. I will say that thanks to some really colorful exchanges on coms last night, GS and Syn ended up in the arena vs. Zepher-Storm and Panik, and it was a blast! We had such an awesome time, and I have to rescind every bad expectation I had about PvP. I've giggled like mad over how bad these two are on coms (cuz rude is a nice way to put it) and just generally enjoyed all the great rp coming out of it.
In other news...
-We got a couple more scenes in with Miss Nebula and Origami Man, but those are also going to have to be in the 'coming soon' category of writing. Suffice it to say those three little words have been spoken.
-Pearl Thunder has moved to Exodus to be closer to Fyrborn, and the two of them have made a very sweet couple. Now, to learn how to make her as good in team as she is solo...
-If any of my old group is out there reading, Lara Damon and Alistaire Arcane have found their way to Paragon City. Be afraid. :)
-I have a secret. She'll be around within the week if all works out according to plan.
And, I believe that's everything. Too many irons in the fire and nowhere near enough time to beat them all into masterpieces, but I'll get it all sorted out eventually! Thanks for reading!

No, SB specifically called her Raene to keep up the charade. If he said Dierdre it was a player slip, not him. In fact, now that they are in love, if he refers to her with someone outside the know, he calls her Midnite. And simply calls her sweetheart on comms so he doesn't have to say Raene. And he's had relationships last more than a week...like the one he's in now. Oh and meet the kid, she had a great conversation with Abby tonight and Avo was mentioned.
