These people are not baptists, they are buttholes. There may be some confusion on your part, but be clear, these folks, buttholes.
I agree that they aren't what Baptists should be, but I have the unfortunate experience that this hateful, intolerant attitude is prevalent, especially among those who enjoy the designations "Grassroots" or "Fundamentalists". It's a good example of the types of behaviour that have driven me to shun organized religion on the whole.
