So, I started to think Monday updates would be better than Friday updates, so here ya are. :)

Thanks to the campaign above and some family help, we managed to get the water turned back on when it was turned off on Wednesday. Financially, we're almost caught up with the rent (less the late fees the landlord keeps piling on), and the electricity and phone minimums (the least amount they let you pay to keep from getting them shut off) have been deferred to the end of the week. So, please, keep circulating this link: http://danow.chipin.com/january-rent and donate if you can! It feels like we're in the home stretch (or, in football terms, the last quarter)!

Mike signed papers at the lawyer's office on Friday, and they tell us that we'll be getting what is left of our settlement in two months. At that point, we're hoping we'll be able to buy a car that he can use to get back and forth to work and pay back some (I wish it could be all) of the money people have loaned us along the way.

I'm waiting on phone calls and paperwork right now as I continue to try to circumvent Medicaid's insistance that, instead of the medications that work, I should be trying the medications they have decided will work. If you know anything about psych meds, you know that the process of finding meds is a lot like playing Russian Roullette with your brain, so that when you actually find a medication or combination thereof that works with minimal side effects (or side effects you can live with), you don't change them for any reason, and you never volunteer to play guinea pig for another 6 months to 2 years until someone is finally satisfied that the only thing left is what you told them works in the first place. So, I have had my work cut out for me.

Caedyn's enjoying his four day weekend after last week's midterms, but any kind of update on him beyond that is hard to give. He is seventeen, after all. :P

In any case, that's life here in our little corner of SoFlo. Have a great week, ya'll!

Lela
